How to read your configuration

Hubs × tiers × seats × contacts — HubSpot's pricing is a spreadsheet wearing a website. Five questions and this builds your configuration live: the honest tier, the seat math, the onboarding fees nobody mentions, and whether the bundle beats à la carte.
First time here? Read the walkthrough — how the finder thinks, and the traps it steers you around.
Pick everything that applies — each maps to a hub.
People who edit, send, and work records — viewers are free on every tier.
People you actively email or advertise to — not your whole database. Skip the worry if you didn’t pick marketing.
Concrete features, not vibes — this is where teams underestimate themselves.
The panel builds three decisions at once — here's what each one means.
Every answer votes: seats, contact volume, what you'll actually build, and where you are today. Self-assessment alone under-recommends — Starter sticker shock six months in costs more than an honest Pro number up front.
Some hubs price per seat, others bundle seats into a base price with per-seat overage. The estimate assumes every seat needs every hub — real portals mix seat types, which usually lowers the number.
Once you need two or three hubs at Professional, the Customer Platform bundle often beats buying them separately — the panel computes both so the comparison is yours, not a sales pitch.
List pricing per month billed annually, as of July 2026, verified against hubspot.com. Starter is simple — every hub rides on one price, $20/seat/month. Professional and Enterprise are where the models diverge:
| Hub | Professional | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | $800/mo — 3 seats included, +$45/extra seat | $3,600/mo — 5 seats included, +$75/extra seat |
| Sales | $90/seat/mo | $150/seat/mo |
| Service | $90/seat/mo | $150/seat/mo |
| Content | $450/mo — 3 seats included | $1,500/mo — 5 seats included |
| Data | $720/mo — 1 seat included | $2,000/mo — 1 seat included |
| Customer Platform (all hubs) | $1,300/mo — 6 seats included | $4,700/mo — 8 seats included |
Several hubs carry a required one-time onboarding fee at Professional and Enterprise — it appears at checkout, not in the pricing headline:
| Hub | Professional | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | $3,000 | $7,000 |
| Sales | $1,500 | $3,500 |
| Service | $1,500 | $3,500 |
| Content / Data | none | none |
Buy through a Solutions Partner and that fee is waived — as a Platinum partner we deliver the onboarding ourselves: hands-on portal configuration by the team accountable for the result, not a schedule of advisory calls. It's the single most concrete reason buying through a partner costs less, not more.
If you're running Marketing Hub, you're also buying contact volume: Starter includes 1,000 marketing contacts, Professional 2,000, Enterprise 10,000 — with paid contact packs beyond that. Marketing contacts are the people you actively email or advertise to, not your whole database, so keeping non-marketable contacts flagged correctly directly lowers the bill. At 20,000+ contacts, packs become a real line item — we model it before you sign, because it's where HubSpot bills surprise people.
Starter genuinely covers small teams with modest volume — until you need any of these, every one of which lives at Professional: multi-step workflows, custom reports, lead scoring, A/B testing, or ad conversion events. If any of those are on your roadmap within a year, start at Professional — rebuilding your setup after a mid-term upgrade costs more than the tier gap saved. And if you're still validating, Free is genuinely usable.
