Market Disrupt won HubSpot's 2026 Solutions Partner Quote Template Contest. Our entry — an interactive engagement-proposal template built for flat-fee estate planning law firms — was selected as one of two winning entries worldwide, and the win was announced on stage at UNBOUND 2026, HubSpot's annual conference in September. The template was also showcased during the conference's CPQ session.
For a team that spends most days inside other companies' HubSpot portals, having our work held up by HubSpot itself, in front of the partner community, is a milestone worth a short post. Here's what the contest was, what we built, and why it matters if your company sends quotes.
What the contest was
HubSpot has been rebuilding its quoting layer: the new CPQ framework lets developers build fully custom-coded quote templates — interactive web documents wired into the CRM, not static PDFs. To push the ecosystem, HubSpot challenged its certified Solutions Partners to design custom quote templates on the new framework, judged on four things: vertical fit, technical quality, buyer experience, and rep usability.
That last pair is the interesting one. A quote template has two users: the buyer deciding whether to sign, and the sales rep who has to produce the document in the first place. Most quoting tools serve one at the other's expense. The contest asked for both.

What we built: an engagement proposal for estate planning firms
We picked a vertical where the standard line-item quote fails hardest: flat-fee estate planning law. The buyer is a consumer making a high-trust, four-figure decision, and the document they receive is usually either a generic price list or a wall of legal boilerplate. Our template turns it into a proper engagement proposal, presented by a demo firm we created for the contest, Oakline Estate Law.
Three things make it work:
- Buyers configure the engagement on the published quote. The client chooses between three flat-fee plans and toggles hourly add-ons directly on the page — and a serverless function updates the deal amount in the HubSpot CRM in real time. The rep's pipeline reflects what the buyer actually selected, without a single email exchange.
- The scope is explicit, in both directions. Every plan states what's included and what's outside scope — the thing legal buyers actually scan for — alongside timekeeper rate tables for hourly work and a trust-deposit billing schedule with replenishment terms.
- Compliance is built into the signature flow. Required conflict-check acknowledgments keep the accept button locked until the client confirms each one. No acknowledgment, no signature.
Reps populate all of it without touching code: pick the plans' line items, edit scope bullets in friendly module fields, set the governing jurisdiction, and the conditional logic resolves itself. An intake coordinator can produce a finished proposal in minutes.

One honest note: Oakline Estate Law is fictional — a demo firm we created so the template could be judged on a realistic engagement. The placeholder legal language is deliberately marked as placeholder; any real firm using the template supplies its own bar-compliant terms.
Why this matters beyond law firms
The pattern — selectable packages, transparent scope, live CRM-connected pricing, gated acceptance — isn't a legal thing. It fits any business that sells packaged services: implementation firms, agencies, home services, healthcare practices, financial advisors. If your quotes are still static PDFs that go stale the moment a buyer asks "what if we add X?", HubSpot's custom quote templates are the fix, and this win is our proof that we know the framework well.
A third-party recap of UNBOUND's CPQ session described it as "a quote template specifically for legal engagements, presenting multiple dynamic pricing plans a client can select from directly." That's the one.
If you want a quote experience like this on your own HubSpot — your packages, your scope language, your pipeline updating itself — that's a build we now do with a trophy on the shelf.
Finally, a sincere thank-you to Ethan Kopit and the HubSpot team for making this contest happen. Giving partners a real framework to build on, and a stage at UNBOUND to show the results, is exactly the kind of thing that makes this ecosystem worth building in.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a HubSpot custom quote template (CPQ)?
HubSpot's CPQ framework lets developers build custom-coded quote templates: interactive, CRM-connected web documents that replace static PDF quotes. They can present selectable packages, recalculate pricing live against the deal's line items, enforce acknowledgments before signature, and stay editable by reps through friendly fields rather than code.
Is Oakline Estate Law a real law firm?
No — Oakline Estate Law is a fictional demo firm we created for the contest entry, so the template could be judged on a realistic engagement proposal. It is not a client, and the legal language in the demo is clearly marked placeholder text that a real firm would replace with its own bar-compliant terms.
Can Market Disrupt build a custom quote template for my business?
Yes — that's the point of entering. We build custom quote templates on HubSpot's CPQ framework for businesses that sell packaged services: selectable plans, transparent scope, live deal-amount updates, and acceptance gating where it matters. As a HubSpot Platinum Solutions Partner, we handle the template, the CRM wiring, and the rep workflow around it.
