How to Bulk Download Email Content in HubSpot

The files inside your HubSpot marketing emails — header graphics, product shots, signature logos, the PDFs you "attach" — are all hosted in one place: HubSpot's File Manager. So bulk downloading your email content's files means exporting the right slice of that library, and FileFetch does it in one run: open the app, choose Export entire file library, filter down to your email assets, scan, export.

Here's where each piece of email content actually lives, the step-by-step export, and what to do about the files that live on CRM records instead.

Where does HubSpot email content actually live?

Three different places, which is why "export our emails" turns out to be three different jobs:

  • The email copy and layout — subject lines, body text, templates, modules. That lives in HubSpot's marketing email tool, which has its own ways of getting content out.
  • The files inside the emails — every image you placed and every file you attached. When you attach a document to a HubSpot marketing email, HubSpot hosts the file in the File Manager and links to it; when you drop in an image, same thing. Years of email sends quietly build a large asset library here.
  • Files on the records of people you emailed — documents that ended up on contacts and deals along the way, stored as file properties or attachments on activities.

FileFetch covers the second and third. For the second — the email asset library — the library export below is the move.

Step by step: export your email files

Five minutes, start to zip:

  1. Install FileFetch from the HubSpot App Marketplace — OAuth with read-only scopes, and the Free plan (100 files a month) works for a first pass. The setup guide has the full install walkthrough.
  2. Open FileFetch via Settings → Integrations → Connected apps → FileFetch, or from the FileFetch tab on any record.
  3. Choose "Export entire file library" and scan — you'll see the total file count before anything downloads.
  4. Filter to the email slice. If your team kept email assets in dedicated folders, filter by folder and you're done. Otherwise combine file type (images), upload date, and size — email graphics tend to be smaller than full-width website imagery, so a maximum-dimension filter separates them surprisingly well.
  5. Export. The zip preserves your folder structure and includes a log of every file fetched, skipped, or failed. Big libraries split into zip parts automatically.

Scanning is free to repeat — filter, scan, check the count, adjust, and only export when the number looks right. Nothing counts against your allowance until you download.

Why teams pull their email assets

The requests that lead here:

  • Switching email platforms. HubSpot's tools move your contact data, and the copy can be rebuilt — but the new platform needs every image and attachment re-uploaded. An asset export is step one of an ESP migration.
  • Compliance and records retention. Regulated teams need the collateral that actually went out — the rate sheets, disclosures, and offer PDFs attached to campaigns — archived outside the tool that sent them.
  • Agency offboarding. If an agency built your campaigns, the creative lives in their folder conventions inside your portal. Exporting it makes it durably yours.
  • A brand refresh. Auditing every graphic currently in circulation is much easier in a local folder tree than one File Manager preview at a time.

What about files on the records you emailed?

Email conversations leave files on CRM records too — the signed form that came back, the receipt a customer sent, the proposal a rep saved to the deal. Those don't live in your email asset folders; they're stored on the records themselves, either in file-type properties or as attachments on notes, calls, meetings, and tasks.

FileFetch's record modes handle that side: filter the contacts or deals you care about, pick the source, scan, download. The step-by-step flows are in our attachments guide and file properties guide — a truly complete "everything connected to our email program" archive is usually the library export plus one record run.

Allowances, security, and pricing

Every downloaded file counts once against your monthly allowance: 100 on Free, 5,000 on Starter, 40,000 on Pro, with current pricing on the FileFetch page. If an export would go past your allowance, FileFetch shows the usage and cost first and only bills overage after you approve it in the app.

Security review takes one paragraph: OAuth 2.0 through HubSpot's consent screen, read-only scopes, files flowing from HubSpot's signed URLs directly to your browser — never through our servers — and portal data purged within 24 hours of uninstall. FileFetch is built by Market Disrupt, a HubSpot Platinum Solutions Partner. Planning a bigger email migration around the export? We can help with that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I export all images from my HubSpot emails?

Every image placed in a HubSpot marketing email is hosted in the File Manager, so export that library. FileFetch scans your whole File Manager, filters by folder, type, date, or image dimensions, and downloads the matching files into a zip with folder structure preserved — no code required.

Can I bulk download attachments I added to HubSpot marketing emails?

Yes. When you attach a file to a HubSpot marketing email, HubSpot hosts it in the File Manager and links to it from the email — so those PDFs and documents come along in a File Manager export, filtered by folder or file type if you only want the attachments.

Does exporting email files from HubSpot include the email text and templates?

No — subject lines, body copy, and templates live in HubSpot's marketing email tool, not the File Manager. A file export covers the images and attached documents your emails use. For the copy itself, work within HubSpot's email tools or rebuild in your destination platform.
